When do pets reach senior age?

Seniority will look different for all pets according to their species, breed and size. Cats reach their senior status at 10-years old, while dogs are considered seniors from anywhere between 6 to 10-years-old. This is because larger dogs age much faster than smaller ones. To us humans 10 years is young, but your furry friend ages two to three times faster than us each year.

Unfortunately, golden age usually means that your pet may develop ailments. This is why veterinary exams become even more important to detect early signs of illness.
